Our pastor, Steve, once said something like this: “Run toward Jesus. Run hard and fast toward Him. Then look around. If you see someone cute, date ’em!” Granted, that’s an oversimplification of how this whole love and marriage thing works, but I think between Aimee’s travels to Europe to follow God’s will, and Eric’s time spent with YWAM (Youth With A Mission), they were on the same path and running in the same direction and likely didn’t even know it. And if there’s one thing I know it is that they’ve been on the same path for a while, and they’re definitely on the same path now. And it’s real. And it’s beautiful.
Aimee and Eric’s wedding this past weekend at YMCA Camp Campbell was simply stunning, with all the right friends and family, and just the right setting. It was filled with joy. It was overflowing with laughter and silliness, and the happy tears came from all corners of the room. So on a wet and drizzly day, with mud at our feet, we took the ceremony inside, got warm, and witnessed two people who have truly, deeply, and wonderfully, found each other. And what a blessing it is to be witness to a moment like that. A true blessing.
