When I sat down with Shaylin and Joshua to talk about their wedding, they mentioned to me they lived in a red barn. And it’s not that I didn’t believe them. I just didn’t know how true this really was. And it was better than they described. They also mentioned to me how much they loved Hakone Gardens in Saratoga, CA. And as beautiful as they talked up the Japanese garden, they managed to make it even more beautiful with succulents and floral arrangements that would make a grown man cry – not to mention filling the area with friends and family from all over who wanted nothing more than to celebrate… and maybe even dance to Michael Jackson and Nirvana. I’m lookin’ at you, Josh’s dad!
But they also told me one more important detail: how much they love each other. And once again, I think they underestimated how powerful and beautiful what they described to me really was. Because their love… now their marriage… is filled with patience, love, hope, and a potent desire for a beautiful future with one another. And between their calm spirits and their beautiful planning, this past Saturday in a small mountain town outside of Silicon Valley couldn’t have reflected these two any better.
