If you were to ask me what one of my greatest joys is, you’d expect me to say something like, “Oh, I love making beautiful images of wonderful people.” But the reality is, it’s the actual getting to know the people that keeps me charged and running full steam. And a very close second to that is the exploration that comes with capturing wonderful moments between two people in love.
And this past weekend, some serious exploration happened in the Gilroy hills. I met up with Natalie and Danny at their home with their two dogs, Gracie and Ozzy, and all of their chickens set against the sunset hills. And from there, we went for a little drive. We came up Jason Stephens Winery, stole a few minutes in someone’s beautiful driveway with a cobble stone bridge over a creek, and then ended up on the corner of the highway with a beautiful green field. Only after that did we head back to their home near a simple white fence to finish out the evening. And through all of that, I had the great opportunity to get to know both Natalie and Danny, to talk with them, and to find out what makes them tick. And, if you ask me, what make them tick is each other. Plain and simple.
